Testosterone Replacement Treatment

Testosterone Replacement Therapy (TRT)

A Face-to-Face, Clinician-Led Service to Restore and Optimise Male Hormone Health

At Murrays Chemist, we offer a high-quality, pharmacist-led Testosterone Replacement Therapy (TRT) clinic specifically designed for men with symptoms of testosterone deficiency. Our service is delivered in collaboration with Dr Amit Sra, a respected UK expert in men’s health, and the clinical team behind Harley Street TRT.

This collaboration ensures our patients receive safe, regulated, and personalised care—delivered face-to-face by healthcare professionals who understand male hormone health inside and out. Unlike many online providers, our clinic is grounded in clinical rigour, diagnostic accuracy, and individual attention.

Who Is This Service For?

This service is exclusively for men experiencing symptoms of low testosterone or clinical hypogonadism.
Women seeking testosterone as part of HRT should book via our women’s hormone health service.

What Is Testosterone Deficiency?

Testosterone plays a critical role in:

  • Libido and erectile function

  • Energy, recovery, and physical motivation

  • Muscle strength and healthy body composition

  • Mood, memory, and sleep quality

  • Fertility and testicular health

Levels naturally decline from age 30, but in some men this decline becomes symptomatic, leading to significant impact on daily function, mental health, and quality of life.

Symptoms of Low Testosterone

Men with testosterone deficiency may experience:

  • Reduced sex drive or fewer spontaneous erections

  • Difficulty with erections or loss of morning wood

  • Low energy or early fatigue after activity

  • Brain fog, forgetfulness, or trouble focusing

  • Low mood, anxiety, or irritability

  • Increase in abdominal fat and reduced muscle tone

  • Disturbed sleep or insomnia

  • Shrinking testicles or fertility issues

Step 1: Symptom Screening with ADAM Questionnaire

Before any treatment or testing, patients complete the Androgen Deficiency in the Aging Male (ADAM) questionnaire—a validated clinical screening tool that helps us assess the extent of your symptoms and determine initial suitability for testing.

Step 2: Advanced Blood Testing – £180

We conduct on-site blood sampling under strict clinical conditions.

Important testing instructions:

  • Must be done within 4 hours of waking (ideally before 11:00 a.m.)

  • Fasting required

  • No heavy physical exertion or sexual activity for 48 hours beforehand

Your blood panel includes:

  • Total & Free Testosterone

  • LH, FSH, SHBG

  • Estradiol (E2), Prolactin

  • PSA (if aged 40+)

  • Full Blood Count

  • Liver enzymes, cholesterol, glucose

These results allow us to assess hormone balance, distinguish between types of hypogonadism, and plan safe, effective treatment.

Step 3: Personalised TRT Consultation and Treatment Plan

Initial Month: £200 + blood tests + medication

Includes up to four in-person consultations covering:

  • Symptom assessment and full medical history

  • Physical examination (if required)

  • Blood test interpretation

  • Treatment options: injectable, oral, or topical

  • Discussion of fertility, lifestyle, and goals

  • Safety monitoring and patient consent

We take time to tailor therapy to each patient, ensuring understanding and confidence in the chosen approach.

Ongoing Support and Monitoring

  • £200 per consultation, or

  • £200/month if more than one visit is needed within that month

  • Repeat prescriptions: £50 – includes a 15-minute review (phone or in-person)

  • Prescriptions issued for 4–12 weeks depending on treatment stage

  • Injectables: Cypionate or Enanthate (subcutaneous or intramuscular)

  • Orals: Kyzatrex® (Undecanoate)

  • Topicals: Gels or patches (used on a case-by-case basis)

Injectable prescriptions come with:

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

Q: Can I stop TRT once I’ve started?
Yes—but tapering is necessary. Stopping suddenly can cause symptoms to return and hormone imbalance.

Q: Will this affect my fertility?
Yes—TRT can suppress sperm production. We can use adjuncts to preserve fertility during treatment.

Q: I’m with an online provider. Can I transfer to Murrays Chemist?
Absolutely. We welcome patients transitioning from online care. We’ll reassess you and request previous lab results if needed.

Q: Why do I need regular blood tests?
TRT affects your liver, red cell count, hormones, and cardiovascular risk. Regular monitoring ensures your treatment is effective and safe.

Q: How soon will I feel a difference?
Most patients feel improvements in mood and libido within 4–6 weeks. Body changes follow within 8–12 weeks.

Q: Why choose Murrays Chemist over online clinics?
Because we provide real, face-to-face care with in-depth consultations, physical examinations, and the support of a medically trained pharmacist backed by Harley Street TRT.

Q: Can my partner attend the consultation?
Yes—we encourage it. Support at home helps with treatment compliance and tracking improvements.
