Children’s Flu Vaccinations

Eligible children may also receive their flu vaccination through community pharmacy during the 2026/27 campaign where they fall within the NHS eligibility criteria.

For many children, the vaccination is provided as a nasal spray rather than an injection, where clinically appropriate.

Eligibility varies according to age, medical history and the NHS vaccination programme in place at the time.

COVID-19 Autumn Vaccination Programme

We will also be participating in the NHS COVID-19 autumn vaccination programme, subject to NHS eligibility, vaccine supply and programme arrangements.

Eligible patients may be able to receive their COVID-19 and flu vaccinations at the same appointment.

Receiving both vaccines together is routinely possible where clinically appropriate and can save you having to make two separate visits.

If you would like both vaccines, please let our team know when booking.

Eligibility for the NHS COVID-19 vaccination is determined nationally and may differ from the eligibility criteria for NHS flu vaccination. Click here to check now

Why Should I Have a Flu Vaccination?

Flu is not simply a bad cold.

Influenza can cause significant illness and, in some people, can lead to complications including pneumonia, deterioration of existing medical conditions and hospital admission.

Vaccination is particularly important for people who are older, pregnant, immunocompromised or living with certain long-term medical conditions.

Flu vaccination can help:

  • Reduce your risk of becoming seriously unwell with influenza
  • Reduce the risk of flu-related complications
  • Reduce hospital admissions
  • Protect vulnerable people around you
  • Reduce time away from work, school or caring responsibilities
  • Reduce pressure on NHS services during the winter months

Can I Have My Flu and COVID Vaccinations Together?

In many cases, yes.

Flu and COVID-19 vaccines can be administered during the same appointment where you are eligible and there is no clinical reason why they should not be given together.

Our vaccinating clinician will complete the appropriate clinical assessment before vaccination.

Do I Need an Appointment?

Not necessarily.

We accept appointments and walk-ins throughout the campaign.

Booking is recommended if you require a particular time, but if you are nearby you are welcome to ask whether we can vaccinate you there and then.

Can I Have a Flu Vaccination If I Am Not Eligible on the NHS?

Yes.

Our private flu vaccination costs £25 and is available for people who would like vaccination but do not meet the NHS eligibility criteria, subject to clinical suitability.
